Two Trump Envoys to Visit Moscow and Kyiv

Washington (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump stated on Friday (4/9) that two US envoys, Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will visit Moscow and Kyiv to explore opportunities to end the years-long Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“I am sending Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, two great negotiators. They have done an extraordinary job, and we are sending them to see if we can reach a deal. And perhaps there is a great opportunity that we will succeed in making it happen,” Trump said at the White House.

Witkoff and Kushner are expected to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday (5/9), and subsequently meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday (6/9), according to reports from the US online news outlet, Axios.

The report added that Witkoff and Kushner have held separate discussions with Russian and Ukrainian negotiators over the past few months, though little progress has been achieved.

The planned visit will mark the first trip to the Ukrainian capital for Witkoff and Kushner since they assumed key roles in the Trump administration’s efforts to end the conflict.
