TransJakarta’s Head of Public Relations and CSR Ayu Wardhani said, when contacted on Thursday (21 May), ‘We can confirm that at the time of the incident, both buses were not in service.’

On social media, videos circulated showing one of the TransJakarta buses damaged on its body and glass after the collision. The incident occurred on Tuesday (19 May) in Kampung Rambutan, East Jakarta.

The bus was allegedly driven by a conductor. TransJakarta has suspended the conductor from the entire TransJakarta ecosystem since the day of the incident on Tuesday (19 May).

‘As a firm step, the conductor suspected of involvement has been suspended from the entire TransJakarta ecosystem since the day of the incident. TransJakarta extends its sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused,’ she said.

She said there were no fatalities in the incident. TransJakarta is conducting an in-depth investigation into the cause of the accident.

‘Therefore, there were no passengers on the bus, and there were no fatalities or injuries in this incident. At present, we are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident,’ she explained.

TransJakarta apologised for the inconvenience caused by the accident.

‘This incident serves as an important evaluation for us, and we are committed to continuing to strengthen safety, security, and the quality of service for all loyal TransJakarta customers,’ she concluded.
