Two Transjakarta Buses Collide at Kampung Rambutan Depot, Driver Suspended

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Two Transjakarta buses were involved in an accident at the Kampung Rambutan Depo in East Jakarta on Tuesday (19 May 2026). Transjakarta’s Head of Public Relations and CSR Ayu Wardhani said the conductor suspected of involvement has been suspended from the entire Transjakarta ecosystem as of the day of the incident. ‘As a firm step, the conductor suspected of involvement has been suspended from the entire Transjakarta ecosystem since the day of the incident,’ Ayu told Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Thursday (21 May 2026). Ayu also confirmed there were no casualties as there were no passengers on the buses at the time of the incident. ‘We can confirm that at the time of the incident, both buses were not in service,’ Ayu said. However Ayu could not yet explain the cause or chronology of the collision between the two Transjakarta buses. ‘We are conducting in-depth investigations to determine the exact cause of the incident,’ she said. Ayu also apologised to Transjakarta customers for the inconvenience and said the company will conduct an evaluation.
