Two top officials grilled for graft

MEDAN: North Sumatra: Local prosecutors have began questioning
two civil servants in connection with an alleged scam involving a
Rp 900 million fund for school examination programs in the
province.

The two suspects -- Bauddin Manik, 45, and Parlindungan
Sinaga, 47, -- were both high ranking officials with the North
Sumatra National Education office.

The prosecutor's office had also summoned other civil servants
allegedly involved in the case: Taroni Hia, 45 , Asarudddin, 40,
Hermansyah, 45, and Sinaksak Singarimbun, 40.

Head of the provincial prosecutor's office Chairuman Harahap
said the investigation would be pursued to reveal those
responsible for the case. --Antara
