Two thieves lynched in Medan
MEDAN, North Sumatra: Two thieves caught red-handed in a house
in Percut Sei Tuan in the city were mobbed to death on Friday.
The two were dealt rough justice by hundreds of people after
Adi Purnomo, owner of the house, shouted for help early in the
morning on Friday.
Purnomo suffered light injuries in a physical clash with the
two thieves who tried to escape but who, later, were apprehended
by the crowd.
Two policemen present at the site could not disperse
the mob as many residents had lost electronic goods, motorcycles
and clothes over the last few months.
The police took the thieves' bodies to the Pringadi General
Hospital while making no arrest of the mob. --Antara
