Two Teenagers Detained in North Jakarta Over Planned Brawl with Weapons

Both were detained early on Sunday (24 May 2026) during a night patrol by Cilincing Police Station as part of Enhanced Routine Patrols (KRYD). ‘We detained two minors carrying bladed weapons and a bow suspected of planning to use them in an incident,’ said Cilincing Police Station Chief AKP Bobi Subasri, as reported by Antara on Sunday (24 May 2026). The two teenagers were then taken to Cilincing Police Station for further questioning. Police also summoned their parents as both are minors. Bobi stated the patrols were conducted to anticipate crimes such as brawls, street robberies, motorcycle thefts, and other security disturbances in Cilincing, North Jakarta. A total of 35 combined police and Pokdar Kamtibmas personnel were deployed. ‘This patrol is a demonstration of police presence in the community to prevent brawls, street robberies, motorcycle thefts, and other criminal activities,’ he said. Bobi added that KRYD patrols would continue regularly alongside the Three Pillars to maintain security stability in North Jakarta. Patrols are conducted during high-risk nighttime hours. He urged all personnel to adopt a humane approach during operations, especially when encountering teenagers still gathering late at night. ‘Officers are instructed to persuasively urge young people loitering to return home immediately,’ he said. Officers conducted sweeps across several high-risk areas including Kalibaru, Cilincing Main Road, Alteri Marunda Road, BKT Marunda Road, BKT Rorotan Road, and STIP Marunda area. Local checks were also carried out at Harapan Indah Junction, Rorotan, and STIP Marunda Junction. ‘The patrol and checks proceeded safely and smoothly. No criminal activity or security disturbances were found at the patrol locations by the end of the operation,’ he said.
