Two suspects in the murder of a Joxzin member in Bantul arrested

Police have finally arrested two suspects in the killing of a Joxzin member in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul. The two suspects were arrested in Sedayu this morning.

Public Relations Head of Bantul Police, Iptu Rita Hidayanto, said that after investigations including witness interviews and analysis of CCTV footage, authorities had identified the suspects. The police then arrested them.

“At around 04:00 WIB, the Bantul Police’s Mobile Resmob (Resmob) together with the Jatanras Operations Team of the DIY Regional Police and the Sedayu Sectoral Criminal Investigation Unit managed to apprehend the suspect in Sedayu,” Rita told reporters in Bantul on Thursday (5/3/2026).

The two suspects are SS (29) and FS (22). Both are residents of Gamping, Sleman.

“For SS, his role was the executor and he has been named as a suspect. FS’s role was that of the accomplice driving SS,” she said. “FS is currently being questioned.”

In relation to the evidence, Rita admitted that it is still being sought. The two are currently at Bantul Police Headquarters for further questioning. “And the suspects are now in detention,” she added.

Separately, Rita clarified that the victim, initially reported with initials TYR (36), is in fact KYR. This refers to the victim’s name Kitin Yogatama Rustamaji.

Earlier reports said the victim was hacked to death at his home in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul, on Wednesday (25/2) at 05:30 WIB. The bloody incident was carried out by two suspects wearing masks.

The victim’s wife was injured as she managed to fend off the attack, while the couple’s five-year-old child was not harmed. After attacking the victim, the two suspects fled from KYR’s house.
