Two Suspects in Conservation Land Arson Detained by Jambi Forest Fire Task Force

Efforts to combat forest and land fires (karhutla) in Jambi are not only focused on extinguishing active fire hotspots but also on investigating suspected burning activities that trigger these fires. The Jambi Province Forest and Land Fire Task Force has secured two suspects believed to be responsible for burning land within the Lubuk Bernai conservation forest area.

The two suspects were escorted by officers from the Rapid Response Forestry Police Unit (SPORC) of the Sumatra Regional Forestry Law Enforcement Agency to the Makorem 042/Garuda Putih, Jambi, on Wednesday (2/9/202scale), to undergo further interrogation.

This enforcement action is part of a broader legal strategy amidst the ongoing threat of forest and land fires looming over several regions in Jambi. Management efforts are directed not only towards extinguishing flames but also towards preventing further land burning and protecting forest areas from environmental damage.
