Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Bachelor of Pharmacy study programme and the Pharmacist Professional Education programme at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (FKIK UAJ), have officially secured ‘Excellent’ accreditation status as recognition of the quality of their educational delivery.

University Secretary, Sherly Tandi Arrang, stated that the accreditation process holds significance beyond a mere formal assessment, serving instead as a foundation for continuous improvement and development. “For us, the accreditation process is not solely an assessment, but an important momentum for reflection, evaluation, and improvement, particularly in the delivery of the Bachelor of Pharmacy and Pharmacist Professional Education programmes,” she said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Both programmes obtained the ‘Excellent’ accreditation status from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) on 29 August 2026. LAM-PTKes is an international-standard independent accreditation agency holding an official mandate from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), which plays a role in fostering awareness, motivation, and concrete steps to encourage continuous quality improvement, while simultaneously strengthening the reputation and performance of institutions in the field of health education.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Atma Jaya Christophorus Foundation, Pungky Putranto, noted that in recent years, both programmes have experienced rapid growth, necessitating the university to enhance the quality of the educational process. “We welcome this assessment process as a vital part of our collective efforts to ensure that education at UAJ consistently meets quality standards and continues to develop sustainably,” he said.

The field assessment took place from 18–20 August 2026 at the Pluit Campus, attended by representatives from the Atma Jaya Foundation, university leadership, the FKIK deanery, heads of study programmes, heads of bureaus, and others.

The assessment aimed to review the achievements of the programmes from 2017 to the present, as well as future development directions, to ensure the production of competent graduates ready to provide pharmaceutical services in accordance with societal standards and needs.

Following a comprehensive evaluation series, LAM-PTKes officially announced that the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Programme and the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Programme at FKIK UAJ successfully achieved ‘Excellent’ accreditation status. This achievement is based on LAM-PTKes Decree No. 0567/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/VIII/2026 and LAM-PTKes Decree No. 0568/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Pro/VIII/2026.
