Two students held for killing mate

Police have arrested two students of a private academy for
their alleged role in Wednesday's murder of a friend at their
campus in East Jakarta.

"The Matraman police are still questioning another student,
who -- according to several witnesses -- also attacked the
victim," said Lt. Col. A. Latief Rabar, a spokesman for City
Police, told reporters yesterday.

The victim is identified as Cakra Kumara, 23, a final-year
student of a private academy on Jl. Matraman Raya, East Jakarta.

The victim died on the way to hospital, which is located two
blocks from the campus.

The postmortem report from the Cipto Mangunkusumo General
Hospital said that a serious head injury and a single stab to the
back was the cause of death.

Latief quoted eyewitnesses as saying that a group of students
attacked Cakra, who was only waiting for graduation day, on
Wednesday evening when the campus was holding the closing
ceremony for the so-called orientation program for new students.
