Two-Storey House in Tebet Destroyed by Fire, Four People Killed

A two-storey house that also served as a photocopy business was destroyed by fire on Jalan Rasamala II, Menteng Dalam, Tebet, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Monday (24/8/2026). The fire, reported at around 3.20 a.m. local time, resulted in the deaths of four people and left one person injured.

A total of 21 fire engines and 86 personnel were deployed to tackle the blaze, which affected a building with a damaged area of approximately 1,200 square metres. The fire was eventually brought under control later in the morning. Initial indications suggest the fire originated from the lower section of the photocopy machine room, while the exact cause remains under investigation by the police.

The fire also destroyed cars and motorcycles parked in the garage, leaving only their frames.
