A two-storey house in Sukaraja Village, Bogor, West Java, collapsed. The building came down during heavy rainfall.

M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor District Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening (10 March). The heavy load on the second storey was suspected to be the cause of the collapse.

“According to the homeowner’s account, the deteriorated construction of the first-floor structure was not strong enough to support the weight of the second storey. Compounded by the severe rainfall at the time, the two-storey residential unit collapsed,” said Adam on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

At 22:00 WIB, emergency personnel received reports from residents. Officers then conducted disaster management operations.

“Response time was one hour, with the estimated impact being one residential unit severely damaged,” he stated.

Adam confirmed there were no fatalities in the incident. He noted that the house had been unoccupied by its owner for two years.

“The current situation shows that the building damage has not yet been repaired. The house had been vacant for nearly two years,” he said.
