Two employees of a Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) working at a Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchen have been arrested by the Sumenep Police Narcotics Investigation Unit in East Java. They were detained in connection with drug abuse.

Sumenep Police public relations officer Ipda Ach Putra Wardana said the suspects, identified by the initials MA, 39, and AFH, 27, were arrested while using methamphetamine in the MBG kitchen in Lenteng Timur village, Lenteng district, at around 10.30am on Thursday, 22 October.

“Yes, that’s right, both are MBG employees,” Ach Putra Wardana said, as quoted by detikJatim on Saturday, 24 October 2026.

According to initial statements given to investigators, suspect AFH ordered the meth through MA. Police are still investigating the drug’s source.

During the arrest, officers seized two small plastic sachets containing 0.39 grams and 0.11 grams of methamphetamine. They also confiscated several items, including a homemade water-bottle bong, straws, a glass pipe, a gas lighter, a piece of tissue, the jeans worn by one of the suspects, and a mobile phone belonging to AFH.

Mellisa Agustin, head of SPPG Lenteng Timur 3, confirmed that the two men were her employees. She said MA and AFH worked in food packaging.

“Yes, both of them are employees,” Mellisa said.
