Two Singaporeans robbed
JAKARTA: Two Singaporeans were robbed on separate occasions on Sunday and Monday in West Jakarta, causing losses of Rp 2.3 million (US$270) in cash, a car and a mobile phone.
The first victim was identified as Abdul bin Said, 47, who was robbed by four men at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday while walking on Jl. Bank in Pinangsia, West Jakarta, after alighting from a public minivan.
The four robbers were passengers on the same minivan. They disembarked and tailed Abdul, and later stole his bag containing Rp 2.3 million and six items of clothing.
Abdul said that one of the robbers held a sickle to his neck.
The second victim, Paul Kaslim, 39, was robbed at his house in the Puri Kedoya housing complex in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.
Six armed men broke into the house at 1:30 a.m. on Monday.
Paul, who was sleeping, woke up to find one of the robbers aiming a gun at him. He gave the man his mobile phone and the keys to his BMW. Later the robbers tied up Paul by the hands and feet.
