Two Singaporeans arrested in Batam

BATAM, Riau: Police in Batam are investigating two Singapore citizens who were found to be using crystal methamphetamine (an illegal drug popularly known as shabu-shabu) while in the company of a suspected sex worker in a luxury hotel on Sunday.

The two Singaporeans identified only as CC and LSS tested positive for the banned substances after undergoing a laboratory examination.

"The two will be processed in accordance with our law," a policeman said here on Monday.

He said the two were nabbed after the police obtained a tip from a worker at the Melia Panorama Hotel where the suspects were partaking in the illicit behavior. --Antara
