Two Sides of Indonesia-US Trade Deal

Jakarta — The Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) between Indonesia and the United States is assessed to present impacts on two different sides.

On one side, the agreement presents risks as it incorporates many important details beyond tariffs and market access as frequently narrated by the government. The trade agreement signed by President Prabowo Subianto and US President Donald Trump last week is regarded as being heavily laden with Washington’s agenda to dictate the direction of Indonesia’s economic geopolitics.
