Two sentenced for keeping marijuana

TANGERANG (JP): The Tangerang District Court sentenced Budi
Irawan, 36, and Yovi Abidin, 24, each to one year in jail for
possessing 9.3 grams of marijuana.

Presiding Judge Fawsia said that the two defendants were
arrested on Jl. Terate Kotabumi on Oct. 4, 1997.

"The two were caught smoking some of the marijuana," she said.

The council of judges found the two guilty of violating
Article 85 of 1997 Law No. 22 on narcotics, she added. (41/hhr)
