Two RWs Affected by Kemayoran Fire, Aid Prepared at Evacuation Site
Government has set up an evacuation site at Jusuf Hamka Field, Jalan Benyamin Suaeb, for more effective data collection and coordination of fire disaster assistance in the Kebon Kosong area of Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Safrizal ZA, Director General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated that evacuation facilities have been prepared with support from various parties.
“Temporary evacuation sites have been arranged so residents do not gather on the streets and can rest, along with logistics provided by BPBD in collaboration with the Social Affairs Office, PMI, and Baznas,” Safrizal said, reported by Antara on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
Three tents have been provided by the DKI Jakarta Social Affairs Office, and several logistics vehicles from PMI and BPBD have arrived at the site. Currently, data collection is underway for affected residents in two RWs: RW 04 covering five RTs (RT 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16) and RW 05 covering three RTs (RT 01, 02, and 03).
Safrizal explained that the data will include school-age children to ensure their education needs are met. After the emergency situation concludes, the government will conduct a building inventory and discuss long-term measures for residents.
“Once this emergency is over, we will discuss the process for the community, including possible relocations to safer housing,” Safrizal added.
A fire broke out in the densely populated Kampung Pasar Haji Ung area on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 1 June at around 8:55 pm WIB.
DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) deployed 35 fire trucks and 165 personnel to extinguish the blaze, which is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service Chief Bayu Meghantara confirmed adequate water sources at the site.
“Alhamdulillah, the water supply is sufficient,” Bayu said.
Bayu also confirmed that officers promptly assisted residents requiring medical aid.
“Some residents were taken to hospital due to minor injuries and smoke inhalation,” he added.
