Two robbers nabbed in Pekanbaru

PEKANBARU, Riau: Locals apprehended two armed robbers attempting to rob a woman waiting for a bus in the city on Tuesday.

The two thieves, identified as And, 27, and Jfk, 37, were assaulted by the crowd while another, 26-year-old Mul, escaped.

Evidayanti, whose wallet was stolen, said she was robbed by the three men after they forced her and her son into the minivan they were driving.

"I was screaming for help when the three robbed by bag and took my wallet. I continued screaming when the minivan was trapped in a traffic jam until motorists stopped the minivan," she said.

The thieves were eventually handed over to the local police. --Antara
