Two Repeat Offenders from South Sulawesi Burgle House in South Kuta, Gold Worth Rp 150 Million Stolen
Two recidivists from South Sulawesi brazenly burgled a resident’s home in the Kampial area of South Kuta, Badung. In the act, the pair made off with gold jewellery and a sum of money, with the victim’s total losses reaching approximately Rp 150 million.
The two perpetrators are Rapit (48), a driver, and Amir (40), a casual daily labourer. Rapit is a recidivist in a murder case, while Amir is a recidivist in a narcotics crime case in the South Sulawesi region.
“The first perpetrator is a recidivist in a murder case in the South Sulawesi region. The second perpetrator is a recidivist in a narcotics crime case in the South Sulawesi region,” said Denpasar Police Public Relations Head, I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, on Monday (24/8/2026).
The theft occurred on Saturday (22/8/2026). At the time, the victim, Anisa Dewanti, was at work. At around 2.46 pm local time, her younger sibling, Sinta, contacted Anisa by telephone and informed her that the padlock on the house’s front gate was damaged and the bedroom was in disarray.
Anisa then immediately returned home to check on her house. Arriving at around 3.00 pm local time, she discovered that a number of gold jewellery items and valuables had gone missing from their places.
“Upon learning of this, the complainant returned home and arrived at 3.00 pm local time, and the complainant immediately carried out a check,” Adi added.
Anisa subsequently reported the incident to the South Kuta Police. The Criminal Investigation Unit head together with the Operational Unit officer from South Kuta Police attended the location to conduct an investigation.
From the investigation results, police obtained a description of the perpetrators. Police then received information that the two suspected perpetrators were in the vicinity of Jalan Popies II, Kuta, Badung.
Police then carried out a search and further investigation until they finally located the two perpetrators at a guesthouse, Mahendra Beach Inn.
“They then carried out a search and in-depth investigation in the Legian Kuta area and successfully secured the perpetrators at the Mahendra Beach Inn guesthouse,” he explained.
During questioning, the two perpetrators admitted to committing the theft together with an accomplice. They entered the victim’s house by prising open the gate and a window of the house.

Police secured a number of items of evidence from the two perpetrators. These included 14 gold bracelets, five gold necklaces, three gold rings, two pairs of gold earrings, one 2-gram gold bar, Rp 252,000 in cash, and several notes of foreign currency.
In addition, police seized a pair of blue Puma shoes, six long screwdrivers, a black and grey Honda Scoopy motorcycle, clothing worn by the perpetrators, and a helmet.
“As a result of this incident, the complainant suffered losses of around Rp 150 million,” he stated.
