Two Rangkasbitung Commuter Line trains were stoned by irresponsible individuals overnight on Sunday, 24 May 2026, resulting in shattered windows and doors.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, stated on Monday, 25 May 2026: ‘Two incidents of stone-throwing occurred on the Rangkasbitung Commuter Line, causing broken windows and doors.’

Karina explained that the first incident involved Commuter Line Rangkasbitung No. 1762 heading to Tigaraksa Station on the Daru-Tigaraksa route around 19:20 WIB, damaging one window and one passenger door.

The second incident occurred on Commuter Line Rangkasbitung No. 1783 bound for Tanah Abang Station on the Kebayoran-Palmerah route at approximately 19:44 WIB, resulting in two broken windows and doors.

‘Security personnel from Tenjo and Kebayoran Stations promptly responded to the reports, searching the area for suspects and securing the railway line. However, no perpetrators or suspicious individuals were found at the scene,’ Karina said.

She added that authorities conducted anti-vandalism education for residents near the incident locations.

To ensure passenger safety from glass shards, KAI Commuter replaced the damaged glass at Parung Panjang Station with maintenance staff.

‘Law No. 23 of 2007 on Railways strictly prohibits vandalism that damages railway infrastructure and facilities,’ Karina stressed.

She noted that perpetrators could face up to 15 years in prison under the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) Chapter VII on crimes endangering public safety.

KAI Commuter urged local governments, community leaders, and parents to actively educate residents and children to safeguard train travel by refraining from vandalism.
