Jakarta — Two oil cargo vessels operated by PT Pertamina (Persero) through Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) have successfully exited the Middle East region, specifically the Strait of Hormuz, which has been closed by Iran.

As context, on 28 February 2026, four Pertamina Group vessels were positioned in the Middle East area: VLCC Pride and Gamsunoro were in the Persian Gulf and unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz, whilst PIS Rinjadi and PIS Paragon were already outside the strait’s restricted zone.

By 10 March 2026, PIS Paragon and PIS Rinjani had successfully departed the Middle East region. Both vessels are sailing for commercial operations serving third parties, rather than the domestic market.

As of 11 March 2026, VLCC Pertamina Pride and Gamsunoro remain in the Persian Gulf and are unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz. Gamsunoro is operating to serve third-party clients, whilst VLCC Pertamina Pride is designated for domestic supply requirements.
