JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The North Jakarta Sub-Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land (Sudin Citata) sealed the operation of two padel courts in North Jakarta on Wednesday (4 March 2026) for lacking a Building Permit (PBG). The head of Sudin Citata North Jakarta, Herry Priyatno, said the two padel courts sealed are located in Ancol and Penjaringan. He explained that the sealing has no time limit. The padel courts can reopen only after operators complete the licensing process in accordance with applicable regulations. ‘We hope prospective padel court operators obtain the necessary permits before construction activities proceed,’ he said. Regarding the permit process, Herry stressed that his side is ready to assist prospective operators in processing permits. ‘We (Sudin Citata Jakarta Utara) will be ready to assist in the permit process,’ he said. Meanwhile, one operations manager of a padel court in the Ancol area, Petrus Assa, admitted that they have not yet obtained the PBG although the licensing process is ongoing.
