Two New Trans Metro Dewata Bus Stops Open on Jalan Thamrin and Dewi Sartika
The Bali Transportation Agency (Dishub) has inaugurated two new Trans Metro Dewata (TMD) bus stops in Denpasar and Badung. The two stops are located on Jalan Thamrin and Jalan Dewi Sartika. Head of Bali Dishub I Kadek Mudarta stated that the two stops address public demand. “There were no stops in those two locations previously; there were only signs. So we saw a community need there. We then optimised the budget we have,” Mudarta said on Saturday (18/7/2026). Mudarta explained that the stop on Dewi Sartika facilitates two corridors, namely corridor 2 GOR Ngurah Rai-Airport and corridor 1 Pesiapan Terminal-Central Kuta Parking. Meanwhile, the Jalan Thamrin stop facilitates corridor 3 Ubung Terminal-Icon Mall and integration with other corridors. Mudarta explained that only two stops were projected this year to align with the 2026 regional budget. Going forward, the development of stops will be continued and enhanced at other points. “In our planning, it will continue to be improved based on needs evaluations and community input as well. Many have already voiced their opinions through our social media,” Mudarta clarified. These suggestions include requests for more proper and representative bus waiting shelters. He hopes that proper stops can increase public interest and awareness in using public transport.
