The Badung District Health Office is accelerating the completion of documents for the Certificate of Worthiness to Function (SLF) to operate two new government hospitals, namely RS Giri Asih in Abiansemal Subdistrict and RS Suwiti in Petang Subdistrict. These new hospitals are targeted to start serving BPJS Kesehatan patients in August 2026. “We are ready to issue the operational permit recommendation, and we even target collaboration with BPJS in August because the health aspects have already been assessed. So, for BPJS collaboration, it must already be accredited. Now, we request assistance with the administrative aspects of the SLF because we are hindered there,” said the Head of the Badung Health Office, Made Padma Puspita, during a meeting with Commission IV of the Badung DPRD on Monday afternoon (13/4/2026). Coordination with the Badung Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) continues to ensure that architectural and building verifications are completed soon. This is crucial because the hospitals must comply with the Online Single Submission (OSS) system regulations before officially serving the general public or health insurance patients. “District hospitals must comply with central regulations; we dare not violate administrative rules even if it delays the operational schedule gradually. But for the operational permit, it will be issued this month, so general patients can be served immediately, whereas for BPJS, it must wait for the credentialing process,” Padma stated. In addition to strengthening hospitals, the Badung Health Office is also striving to make Auxiliary Health Centres (Pustu) independent through more even placement of medical personnel. The long-term target is to have one doctor available in every village-level health service unit during morning working hours. “Preventive aspects can be handled at the lower level so that health centres can focus more on patients with severe diagnoses. If not possible through the CPNS route due to central regulations, we hope that health centres are given independence to recruit permanent employees through BLUD budgets,” Padma explained. To support tourism sector security, the Badung Regency Government is also preparing a rabies handling centre at high-risk bite points. The availability of vaccines and anti-rabies serum is now brought closer to tourist attraction locations to ensure rapid medical handling for tourists and local residents. “We are improving Pustu in tourism areas prone to rabies by placing contact details for officers so that handling time can be maximised at just fifteen minutes. For example, in Sangeh where monkey bites often occur, our team immediately provides VAR or SAR as soon as reports come in,” she concluded.
