Two New BGN Leaders Officially Assume Office: Here Are Their Profiles
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S Deyang, has officially introduced two new leadership figures who will strengthen the organisation’s structure. The move aims to tighten financial oversight and optimise programme distribution in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. The presence of these two new leaders marks a new chapter for Nanik S Deyang, who succeeded Dadan Hindayana, with the appointments focused on transparency and operational effectiveness on the ground. The first figure introduced is Agustina Arum Sari. She is no stranger to the world of audit and supervision. Before joining BGN, Arum served as Deputy Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). Nanik stressed that Arum’s 34-year track record in audit is the main asset for safeguarding BGN’s integrity. ‘She has been in supervision and audit for 34 years. In accordance with the President’s instructions and her expertise, she will supervise the governance and state finances at BGN with extreme strictness,’ Nanik stated at the BGN Building, Central Jakarta, on Thursday. Arum’s placement is considered crucial given the large budget managed by BGN for national strategic programmes, which requires an accountable oversight system to prevent irregularities. In addition to supervision, BGN is also strengthening its programme execution line by introducing Major General Trenggono. He previously served as Deputy President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. Nanik explained that Trenggono’s territorial expertise is greatly needed to reach difficult areas in Indonesia. ‘Why is there a military officer? Because it relates to the 3T programme. We need a territorial expert there,’ she explained. Regarding his active military status, Nanik confirmed that Trenggono has submitted his resignation. ‘The resignation process has been submitted and has been ongoing since yesterday. Perhaps he will be retired soon,’ she added. With the addition of these two figures, BGN is expected to execute its mandate more effectively and transparently, reaching all levels of society across the nation through more solid governance.
