Two murder suspects arrested

JAKARTA (JP): The police arrested two high school students for their alleged involvement in the murder of another student at the Blok M bus station in South Jakarta, an officer said yesterday.

Lt. Col. Silvanus Wenas, head of the South Jakarta Police precinct, said the two suspects, identified only as Uk, 17, and Du, 18, are students at a technical high school in Bulungan, South Jakarta. They were caught in Bekasi on Thursday, he said.

The police confiscated two knives believed to have been used by the suspects to stab the victim.

The victim named Heri Sulistiono, 20, was a friend of the two suspects.

The murder happened on Tuesday after a fight between Bulungan technical school students and the technical school students of aviation in Kebayoran Baru.

The suspects stabbed Heri in his abdomen because he refused to help them in the fight, the police said. (29)
