Two more women commit suicide

JAKARTA (JP): Two more women have committed suicide by drinking insecticide it was reported yesterday, taking this week's death toll of such cases to three.

The bodies of Nining, 30, a resident of Jl. Tripar, Cilincing, North Jakarta, and Parwati, 22, of Jl. Letjen Suprapto, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, were sent by police to the Cipto Mangunkusumo general hospital's morgue yesterday for a post mortem.

Nining's body was sent by the Cilincing police subprecinct, in North Jakarta, on Tuesday, while Parwati's was forwarded by the Cempaka Putih police subprecinct, in Central Jakarta, yesterday.

Chief Sergeant Charmadi of the Cempaka Putih police subprecinct said that Parwati was a housemaid and that her employers had been questioned.

Parwati was found in her room with a glass of insecticide at her side at 5:15 a.m. yesterday, he said.

The employers said there had been no arguments between them and the victim, but Charmadi said police would investigate it further.

No further details were available on the death of Nining.

Siska Anggraeni, a 16-year-old student of SMEA Al-Khairiyah in North Jakarta, also committed suicide by drinking insecticide Tuesday. (04)
