This brings the total number of fallen TNI soldiers to three members.

“In the incident, two TNI soldiers were reported killed, while two others suffered serious injuries. The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Defence and TNI, continues to coordinate with UNIFIL headquarters to ensure the safety of all personnel and the best handling for the victims.

“Evacuation and medical treatment measures have also been carried out quickly in accordance with United Nations operational procedures,” he explained.

The Ministry of Defence emphasised that the safety of peacekeeping forces must be a priority.

Rico stressed that all parties involved in the conflict are expected to respect international humanitarian law and ensure the security of peacekeeping personnel.
