Two more ships for Karimun Jawa
SEMARANG, Central Java: The shipping service between Jepara and Karimun Jawa Islands in the northern part of Central Java, will be expanded by two new ships for marine tourism promotion, the chief of the local transportation office, Gatot Sudjantoko, said.
The route is currently served only twice a week.
He told Antara after a discussion on the development of tourism here that a new Rp 900-million ship with fishing equipment and a restaurant would begin serving the territory later this year.
The other one, which is designed to function as a ferry capable of carrying passengers and cars, will ply that route in 1996. (kod)
