Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya) will continue to provide its mobile driving-licence (SIM) service this Sunday, helping residents renew the validity of the document required for legal driving. The service will be available in only two areas of Jakarta.

The Jakarta Metro Police said through its Instagram account, @tmcpoldametro, that the SIM service points would be open from 7am to noon Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

The locations are:

East Jakarta: Jalan Raden Mas Intan, beside McDonald’s, Duren Sawit.

West Jakarta: Jalan Panjang, beside Indomaret, Kebon Jeruk.

Applicants should prepare and complete the required documents and administrative fees before going to a renewal location.

The requirements are a photocopy of a valid identity card (KTP), the original and still-valid old SIM, proof of a medical examination, and proof of a psychological test through the Simpel Pol app.

The mobile SIM service can renew only licences that are still valid, namely SIM A and SIM C. Anyone whose licence has expired, even by just one day, must apply for a new SIM at a location designated by the police.

Under Government Regulation No. 76 of 2020 on the types and tariffs of non-tax state revenue (PNBP) applicable to the National Police, the renewal fee is Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C.

Applicants must also pay additional charges for the psychological test and the medical examination through the Simpel Pol app.
