Two missing at sea
TERNATE, Maluku: A passenger and a crew member of KM Putra Indah IV vessel which capsized in northern Maluku waters last week were still not accounted for by yesterday.
The ship capsized after crashing with the passenger liner KM Ciremai belonging to the state-owned shipping firm PT Pelni on Friday.
Head of the Ternate port administration, M.S. Karie, said Ciremai crew members managed to pick up 61 people immediately after the crash.
Rescue workers later found six bodies, all women, when they towed the wreckage of Putra Indah IV to the shore of Moti island.
The two still not accounted for are the ship's cook Suharto Umar, and a passenger by the name of Farah Robo.
The search and rescue team of the port administration is still on the lookout for the missing two, Karie said. (emb)
