Police have uncovered the motive behind the stabbing death of Agrapinus Rumatora, alias Nus Kei, the Chairman of the Southeast Maluku II DPD of Golkar Party, by two men with the initials HR (28) and FU (36). The perpetrators admitted to harbouring a grudge against the victim. “The motive is revenge, based on our ongoing investigation,” said the Chief of Police of Southeast Maluku, Rian Sehendi, as reported by detikSulsel on Sunday (19/4/2026). Rian did not provide further details on the grudge between the perpetrators and the victim. However, he stated that the grudge originated when the perpetrators and the victim were both in Jakarta. “The previous issue between the perpetrators and the victim occurred in Jakarta,” he said. Rian added that the two perpetrators immediately fled the scene after stabbing the victim. Police acted swiftly and captured the perpetrators at their hiding place in the Southeast Maluku region. “Alhamdulillah, the perpetrators were successfully apprehended less than two hours after the incident. This was thanks to cooperation from the family, leading to the arrest of both perpetrators,” he added.
