Two residents of West Java (Jabar), initials T and H, were caught red-handed during a sting operation (OTT) by the Mataram Major Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BBPOM) yesterday afternoon. From their possession, officers seized 620 tablets of certain medicines (OOM) suspected to be illegal, with an economic value of around Rp 6 million.

“BBPOM Mataram has once again uncovered a case of misuse of certain medicines (OOM) through a sting operation conducted in the Cakranegara area, Mataram. Officers discovered hundreds of drugs suspected of being misused and potentially endangering public health,” said the Head of BBPOM Mataram, Yogi Abaso, when confirmed in Mataram on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

“Two men with initials T and H are known to be from West Java,” he added.

In the operation, officers found several certain medicines, including Tramadol and Trihexyphenidyl.

“Officers successfully secured 110 tablets of suspected Tramadol and 510 tablets of Heximer (Trihexyphenidyl). With a total of 620 tablets and an economic value of around Rp 6 million,” he stated.

According to Yogi, cases of misuse of certain medicines are still frequently found in urban areas. Regarding this finding, he urged the public to increase vigilance and not to buy, use, or distribute medicines without a prescription.

“We hope the public will immediately report if they find indications of drug misuse in their surroundings. The uncovering of this case is proof that supervision of medicines and food continues to be carried out consistently to create a safe and healthy environment for the community,” Yogi emphasised.
