Two Men Arrested in North Jakarta for Hiding Stolen Motorcycle

Police have arrested two men in Cilincing, North Jakarta, on suspicion of involvement in a motorcycle theft. The arrests were made by a joint team from the Patra Company 4, Battalion B Pelopor of the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade, and Cilincing Police personnel in Gang Teratai, Jalan Kali Baru. Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated in a written release on Wednesday (29/7/2026) that the incident occurred in the early hours around 00.15 WIB. The two suspects were apprehended during an enhanced routine patrol aimed at maintaining security in the area. Officers initially received information that two men had been detained by residents on suspicion of hiding a stolen motorcycle. According to the victim’s report, the theft allegedly took place in Gang Melati, Jalan Kali Baru, Cilincing. The motorcycle was then reportedly taken and hidden in a house in the Warakas area, Tanjung Priok. The patrol was conducted to prevent security disturbances. The detained individuals have been handed over to the territorial unit for examination and further investigation in accordance with applicable regulations.
