Two Men Arrested in Bogor While Collecting 11kg Cannabis Shipment
The Banten Police Narcotics Directorate thwarted the shipment of 11 kilograms of cannabis through a cargo delivery service. Two men, identified by the initials AS and MF, were detained in connection with the case.
Banten Police Narcotics Director Commissioner Wiwin Setiawan said the investigation began after members of the public reported suspected narcotics being sent through a delivery service.
At around 10am on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, officers went to a J&T Cargo warehouse at Jalan Raya Perancis No. 32, Jatimulya, Kosambi district, Tangerang regency, Banten.
“After inspecting a suspicious parcel, officers found 10 packages containing material or leaves suspected to be cannabis, with a total gross weight of about 11,088 grams,” Wiwin said on Monday, 12 October 2026.
Officers then used a controlled-delivery operation, coordinating with the courier company to monitor the shipment until it reached a J&T Cargo warehouse in Gunung Sindur, Bogor regency, West Java.
At around 12.30pm on Thursday, 8 October 2026, AS and MF arrived to collect the parcel. Officers detained them and searched them.
“After coordinating with the courier company to monitor the delivery, officers managed to detain two people suspected of being involved,” Wiwin said.
Initial inquiries indicated that the parcel belonged to a person identified by the initials PD, who is currently on the wanted list. The two suspects were taken to the Banten Police Narcotics Directorate for further questioning.
While they were being transported to Banten Police headquarters, officers searched the two suspects again.
They found a shoulder bag belonging to AS containing five medium-sized plastic packets and four small ones. All contained white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine, with a total gross weight of about 4.56 grams.
“In addition to seizing a large quantity of cannabis sent through a delivery service, officers also found suspected methamphetamine in the possession of one of the suspects. We will investigate further to establish where it came from and whether other drug-trafficking networks were involved,” Wiwin said.
Wiwin said police would continue developing the case, including tracing the whereabouts of others suspected of involvement in the drug-trafficking network.
“We are committed to continuing to combat the illicit drug trade in the Banten Police jurisdiction. We also urge the public not to hesitate to provide information to the police if they become aware of suspicious activity related to drug trafficking,” he said.
