Two malpractice cases a month

JAKARTA: West Jakarta Health Agency office head Indrawati Hadi said on Wednesday that two malpractice cases were reported to her office every month, as reported by beritajakarta.com on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Indonesian Doctors Association Kerkutanto said Jakarta had the highest number of malpractice cases in the country.

"This is caused by a lack of discipline among doctors, the presence of quacks, ignorance and lack of skill," he said.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Mayor Fadjar Pandjaitan urged all general practitioners and dentists, especially those working at public health centers (Puskesmas), to fully understand and obey all written regulations and to work professionally. --JP
