Two Male Bodies Found in Bekasi Drain, Four Suspects Arrested

Two male bodies were discovered in a water channel in the Mustikajaya area of Cimuning, Bekasi City, West Java, on Friday (19/6). Video footage of the discovery circulated widely on social media and went viral. The recording shows two men lying face down in a ditch or drainage channel. Narratives accompanying the footage suggested the victims were suspected of being targets of a robbery. However, this information is still being investigated by the police. Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bekasi City Metro Police, AKBP Andi M Iqbal, confirmed the discovery of the two bodies at the location. “It is true, there are two victims,” Andi said. Police moved quickly and managed to detain several individuals suspected of involvement in the incident. Nevertheless, the police have not yet disclosed detailed information regarding the chronology of the event or the process of arresting the alleged perpetrators. “We have secured four perpetrators,” he added. Police are currently investigating the background of the incident to ascertain the actual motive. The suspicion that the case is related to a robbery is still under investigation. “We are still investigating the motive, whether it was a robbery or something else,” he said.
