Two Local Brands Collaborate to Blend Streetwear with Runway Elegance
Two local brands, Unerd and Othman, launched a collaboration for their new collection titled ‘Amphibious Voyage’, blending streetwear energy with high-fashion aesthetics. The collection was unveiled through an exclusive presentation show on Friday, 6 March.
The collaboration presents a design concept that combines the strong character of street style with elegant runway touches. The philosophy of ‘Amphibious Voyage’ represents the ability of the products to exist in two different worlds, like amphibians that can live on land and in water.
Through the collaboration, the two brands aim to demonstrate that differing perspectives in the creative world can yield new works relevant to the development of the fashion industry.
Core of the collection
In the presentation show, Unerd and Othman introduced five key pieces that form the core of the collection. The pieces consist of two shoe models, one blazer, one black shirt with a floral motif, and one vest.
The shoes in the collection are designed with rugged outdoor outsoles that provide streetwear-grade durability, while the uppers use floral jacquard material that exudes a luxurious impression.
The same floral jacquard material is also used on the blazer and the black shirt in the collection. The use of similar materials across clothes and footwear creates textural harmony while highlighting the collection’s elegant design identity.
Additionally, the collection includes a modern-cut vest that still features cross-cultural design details.
The launch event featured not only a runway show as the main agenda but also concluded with a shared iftar gathering. The event served as a moment of togetherness among guests, media, the community, and collaborators at the start of Ramadan.
Support from BCA
The collaboration also received support from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk through the BCA Bangga Lokal initiative. The program is one of BCA’s efforts to promote the growth of brands and creative SMEs in Indonesia.
Through support for cross-disciplinary collaborations like Unerd and Othman, BCA Bangga Lokal seeks to provide a space for appreciation while expanding opportunities for local brands to grow and reach wider markets.
In addition to BCA, the collaboration is also supported by Infinix as one of the main sponsors. At the event, Infinix introduced its latest flagship product, the NOTE 60 Ultra, showcased during a press conference session.
