Two Lebak Women Go Viral for Swearing While Stepping on the Qur'an, Become Suspects
Lebak Police in Banten have conducted a case review regarding this incident, and the perpetrators—N, who instructed the stepping on the holy book, and M, who actually stepped on it—have been officially named as suspects this afternoon,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Banten Police, Commissioner Maruli Hutapea, to reporters on Saturday (11/4/2026). Maruli did not provide further details about the case. Previously, the Public Relations Section Head of Lebak Police, First Inspector Moestafa Ibnu Syafir, explained that the case began when NR felt she had lost makeup items after ordering them online on Wednesday (8/4). Without clear evidence, NR accused MT of taking the makeup, consisting of powder and perfume. “So, they were actually friends; the salon owner ordered the package and it was stored there. The owner accused MT, and dissatisfied with the confession, they performed an oath on the Qur’an,” said Moestafa.
