Two tourists from Karawang who were buried by a landslide at Curug Cileat in the Cisalak District, Subang Regency, were found dead by a joint search team on Saturday afternoon (16 May 2026). They were believed to have been buried when the Curug Cileat site was struck by a landslide on Friday afternoon (15 May 2026), during a visit.

‘Two people who were buried and have died have been found and transported to the funeral home,’ said Hadi Rahmat, Public Relations official of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), on Saturday. He identified the victims as Alda Apriliani (22) and Winda Limbong (20), both visitors from Karawang.

Three others who were with the victims managed to escape. The landslide occurred following heavy rain on Friday afternoon, which caused the cliff to collapse and bury two visitors from Karawang.

According to the three surviving friends, they were posing for photographs at Curug Cileat when a rumble suddenly occurred, and some managed to flee. The two other victims could not escape in time and were buried by the landslide. The identities of the two victims have been confirmed as Alda Apriliani (22) and Winda Limbong (20).
