A community of property and construction industry players, Propcon Golf Club, has raised Rp175 million to renovate educational facilities at SMP Kartika X-2 and SMK Kartika X-1 in Kalideres, West Jakarta. The funds were collected through the 17th Tim Mackay Memorial Golf Invitational held at Gading Raya Golf Club, Tangerang, on Thursday (25/6/2026). The donation will be used to repair several school facilities, including classrooms, prayer rooms, and toilets, so that students can learn in a more decent, safe, and comfortable environment.

Propcon Golf Club Chairman Desmond Kandiawan said the event was not only a sporting and networking occasion for industry players but also a tangible expression of concern for education. “This tournament is not just a gathering for those in the property and construction industry, but also a means to carry on the values bequeathed by the late Tim Mackay, particularly his concern for education and the future of children,” Desmond said on Thursday (25/6).

Tim Mackay was a former President Director of Holcim Indonesia and one of the founders of the Propcon community. He died in the JW Marriott bombing in 2009. Propcon member Mike Lewis said Mackay’s spirit of giving became even more apparent after his passing. The community later discovered that Mackay had been quietly funding the education of dozens of schoolchildren. “After he passed away, we found out that he had been paying for the schooling of around 30 primary school children, and not many people knew about it. That is the spirit we have continued to this day,” Mike said.

Mike added that over 17 years, the event has supported various social programmes. Past assistance has included building a school in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, following the South Bandung earthquake, and providing welding training for dozens of youths in Cilacap. This year, the aid is focused on renovating SMP Kartika X-2 and SMK Kartika X-1 Kalideres. The improvement of basic school facilities is expected to enhance student learning comfort while supporting the quality of education in the area.

President Director of PT Conwood Indonesia Donny Subiakto said the company’s support for the activity aligns with its sustainability vision. “We believe that every activity holds greater value when it can benefit others. The donations collected are hoped to help improve the quality of educational facilities so that students can learn in a safer and more comfortable environment,” Donny said. Besides raising social funds, the event also served as a collaborative platform for players in the property, construction, and building materials manufacturing industries, as well as consultant services, who are members of the Propcon community.
