Two Islamic Boarding School Students Fall from Dormitory in Pamekasan, One Dies

Two students of the Karang Baru Islamic Boarding School in Blumbungan Village, Larangan District, Pamekasan Regency, fell from the second floor of a dormitory. One student has been reported dead and the other sustained injuries.

Information gathered indicates the incident involving the two students occurred in the male dormitory on Monday (8/6) at approximately 1.45pm Western Indonesian Time. The injured student has received medical treatment.

Upon receiving the report, Larangan Police personnel immediately went to the location and processed the crime scene. A number of witnesses who were aware of the incident have also been questioned.

“Our officers in the field have visited and secured the scene, taken statements from three roommates of the victims who are witnesses, and coordinated with the boarding school administrators and the victims’ families,” said Pamekasan Police Public Relations Head Ipda Yoni Evan Pratama.

Yoni added the victims have been identified by the initials MR (14), a resident of Klompang Barat Village, Pakong District, and AR (14), a resident of Tampojung Village, Waru District. Both were rushed to hospital. However, victim MR was pronounced dead en route to the hospital. The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the family after they accepted the incident as a tragedy.
