Two IRGC Members Killed in 'Terrorist' Attack in Kermanshah
Two members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed and two others wounded in a shooting that authorities have labelled a ‘terrorist’ act in the western province of Kermanshah, state broadcaster IRIB reported on Tuesday. The attack took place on Monday evening in Paveh county, near Iran’s border with Iraq, according to IRIB, which cited a statement from the IRGC’s Public Relations Office in Kermanshah province. The statement said unidentified perpetrators fired at the entrance of a house in what it described as a cowardly and treacherous terrorist act. The two fatalities were identified as IRGC members serving in the local area, whilst two others sustained injuries in the assault. The IRGC stated that an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to identify the perpetrators. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
