Two Indonesians released on bail

JAKARTA: Two of six Indonesians who were arrested in Australia for credit card fraud have been released on bail as they hold permanent residence status in Australia.

An officer with the Indonesian Consulate in Melbourne, Kamapradipta, said they were both released on Wednesday after their lawyers paid A$50,000 each to the court.

"As they are permanent residents, they were able to be released on bail," Kamapradipta said.

The six Indonesian nationals were arrested on Sept. 8 for allegedly being part of a credit card fraud syndicate in East Asia. --JP
