Two Indonesian Crew Members Missing After Fishing Vessel Capsizes Off Busan

Two Indonesian crew members of a fishing vessel went missing on Thursday after their boat capsized in waters off the southeastern coast of the port city of Busan, maritime authorities said. The 79-tonne fishing vessel overturned following a collision with a 992-tonne liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier at 10:10 a.m. local time (08:10 WIB), according to the Ulsan Coast Guard. The crash threw all eight crew members — two South Koreans and six Indonesians — into the sea. The LPG carrier managed to rescue six of the crew, but two Indonesian nationals, both in their 30s, remain unaccounted for. The coast guard has deployed patrol vessels, helicopters and other equipment in the search, officials said. One of the rescued crew members was reported to be in critical condition. President Lee Jae Myung immediately ordered all available resources to be mobilised to rescue the missing and manage the aftermath of the accident, a presidential official said.
