Two Illegal Prescription Drug Dealers Arrested in Tangerang, Hundreds of Tramadol Pills Seized
Teluknaga Police have arrested two men for allegedly distributing illegal prescription drugs on Jalan Raya Dadap, Kosambi, Tangerang City. A total of 419 Tramadol and Hexymer pills were seized during the operation.
Acting Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Eko Bagus Riyadi, confirmed the suspects, identified by the initials MUS and ZI, were taken into custody on Friday. “Officers successfully apprehended two men suspected of distributing List G drugs. The two individuals are known by the initials MUS and ZI,” Eko told reporters on Saturday (25/7/2026).
Eko explained the arrests were made after police received a report from the public regarding the circulation of illegal prescription drugs in the Dadap area. Following the tip-off, the Teluknaga Police Criminal Investigation Unit, led by Unit Head Inspector Binsar P. Hutabarat, immediately conducted an investigation and surveillance at the location.
“From the two suspects, police seized 257 Tramadol pills and 162 Hexymer pills, making a total of 419 prescription drug pills,” Eko stated. In addition to the drugs, officers also confiscated Rp 640,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from sales, along with two mobile phones suspected of being used to facilitate transactions. The suspects and the evidence were taken to the Teluknaga Police station.
Eko assured that investigators are continuing to probe the case to uncover the origin of the drugs, which are believed to be part of a supplier network. “The distribution of List G drugs without a licence cannot be taken lightly. These drugs are often abused and can damage health, even triggering criminal acts. Therefore, we will continue to take consistent action against the perpetrators,” he added.
