Two Illegal Ammunition Suppliers to KKB Arrested in Jayapura, Including Funding Provider

The Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz 2026 has once again arrested two individuals suspected of being involved in a network supplying firearms and ammunition to the armed criminal group (KKB) in the Papua region. From the two perpetrators, the police seized 132 illegal rounds of ammunition.

“We have uncovered a network for the circulation of illegal firearms and ammunition in Papua. The two perpetrators were secured at different locations,” stated Deputy Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Operation Damai Cartenz 2026, AKBP Andria, as reported by detikSulsel on Sunday (29/3/2026).

The two suspects, initialled NH and HLT (38), were arrested at different locations in Jayapura, Papua, on Saturday (28/3). The two secured individuals are part of a case development from 12 to 28 March 2026.

“Their arrests are related to a network in the Yalimo and Yahukimo areas. These arrests are part of the development of a case involving an illegal ammunition distribution network that is indicated to be connected to the Yalimo and Yahukimo regions,” he explained.

Andria stated that NH is a member of the KKB Batalyon Yamue Yahukimo, suspected of playing a role as the funding provider in the purchase of ammunition. Meanwhile, HLT is suspected of playing a role as the supplier of illegal ammunition obtained unlawfully.

“In this network, NH acts as the funding provider, while HLT acts as the supplier of illegal ammunition,” he added.
