Two Hajj Pilgrims from Cirebon Regency Die

Two Hajj pilgrims from Cirebon Regency have died in the holy land. Pilgrims are urged to maintain their health. Acting Head of Cirebon Regency’s Ministry of Religion, Ahmad Khotib Haryanto, stated that all pilgrims from Cirebon had departed on schedule and are currently in the holy land. However, during the Hajj rituals, news came that two pilgrims from Cirebon had passed away. The deceased are Moh Ali Karman, 73, from Guwa Kidul Village, Kaliwedi District, part of Cirebon Regency’s Kloter 5, who died in Medina. Yani Ramayani Abas, 61, from Gombang Village, Plumbon District, part of Kloter 25, died in Mecca on Wednesday (21/5) around 09:00 local time. ‘Fatigue and differing weather conditions are suspected to have caused the decline in the pilgrims’ health. We extend our deepest condolences for the two deceased,’ said Khotib on Sunday (24/5). Khotib also urged all other pilgrims to maintain their health amid the different weather conditions in the holy land. ‘We hope all other pilgrims can perform their rituals smoothly and return home in good health,’ he added. This year, Cirebon Regency has 2,524 Hajj pilgrims in seven flight groups (kloter). Five are full Cirebon kloters, while the other two are combined with other regions. Kloter 35 is combined with pilgrims from Bandung City, and Kloter 40 is combined with pilgrims from Purwakarta Regency (H-2). The government, through Hajj officers, will ensure all pilgrims’ rights are fulfilled, including performing the badal hajj for the deceased. Indonesian Hajj pilgrim from Kloter JKG 27, Muhammad Firdaus Akhlan, 72, who was previously reported missing, will have his funeral prayer held at Masjidil Haram in Mecca. A Hajj pilgrim from Brebes, Akhmad Nurokhman bin Zaeni, died at Saudi Germany Hospital in Madinah after receiving heart treatment. A 2026 Hajj pilgrim from Bengkulu in Kloter PDG 04 died in Madinah due to a heart attack. The deceased was buried at Baqi Cemetery. A Hajj pilgrim from Banjarnegara, Central Java, Daimah binti Suwaryo, died in the holy land after landing at Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah. 278 Hajj pilgrims from Cirebon City will depart for the holy land on 9 May 2026 via West Java International Airport (BIJB) in Kertajati, Majalengka.
