Two girls said cause of fires
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Two Malaysian girls, believed to be
possessed by supernatural powers, are causing "bizarre fires" in
their home in southwestern Negeri Sembilan state, a report said
yesterday.
Sales executive Lee Soon Siong, 44, said he was baffled by
strange events and more than 40 fires in his home since last
month.
"Objects burst into flames when my daughters look at them. My
daughters might have some uncanny powers since things catch fire
when they are around," he was quoted as saying in The Star
English-language daily.
Lee said his wife had to follow the two girls, Jean Jean, 10,
and Kean Kean, nine, around the house, as mattresses, pillows,
newspapers, clothing and even a wet towel were destroyed when the
girls were left alone.
The door to the house opened by itself and the main power
switch turns itself off between 20 and 30 times a day, he added.
Although his family had lived in the house for nearly four
years, "strange things" started to happen only last month, Lee
said.
Lee has asked 10 mediums and a priest to bless his house, the
report said.
Journalists who visited the Lee's home last Friday asked the
two children to demonstrate their unusual skills but nothing
happened.
Lee was urged by a police spokesman to lodge a police report.
